Apple's upcoming iPad mini will (most likely) only offer up Wi-Fi capabilities, according to a new report from The Guardian.?That's a bit of a bummer for those LTE-loving folks who constantly find themselves on the go (then again, you can tap into Wi-Fi at pretty much any cafe).
But there's some good news here, too: The report also says that there will be an updated version of Apple's larger iPad.?The revised model would include the newly-designed Lightning dock connector and it would run on the 4G LTE network by U.K. Everything, everywhere.
Apple's iPad mini is expected to measure roughly 7.8-inches, making it the perfect rival for Google's popular Nexus 7 and Amazon's Kindle Fire lineup. There's no word yet on what kind of pricing scale the company will use here, but if it stays in line with its competition, we should be seeing a pretty budget-friendly tag. Of course, it is?Apple, and it's not exactly known for churning out lowbrow, low-priced anything.?
As it goes with unreleased Apple gadgets, there's no telling for certain which rumors are actually worth believing, though most of what we saw prior to the iPhone 5 launch ended up being pretty accurate.?In any case, we'll find out soon enough exactly what's in store for the iPad mini, as Apple is expected to reveal it during an event next week. Rumor has it (yep, another one) that invitations will arrive within the next few days.
