Sheryl Crow is blaming her excessive cell phone use for the development of her benign brain tumor, which doctors discovered earlier this year.
The 50-year-old singer appeared on Katie Couric's new talk show,?"Katie," Monday and opened up about what she believed caused her tumor.

"There are no doctors that will confirm that. [But] I do have the theory that it's possible that it's related to that," Crow told Couric, 55. "I [used to spend] hours on the old archaic cell phones."
The single mom of sons, Wyatt, 5, and Levi, 2, said her tumor is located near the the place she holds a phone. Crow revealed the surprising news of her brain tumor to fans on June 5 to the Las Vegas Review Journal.

She was first alerted to her tumor when she began forgetting lyrics to her popular songs. "I [was] worried I had an early [onset] Alzheimer's," Crow, who was treated for breast cancer in early 2006, explained to Couric.

Crow reassured fans after her diagnosis that there is no reason to worry about her brain tumor. "It's a non-cancerous growth," she wrote on her Facebook page. "Really appreciate everyone's love and concern, I feel so blessed to have the support of all my fans, but I'm good -- really!"
